Have you heard of The Original Game Company? They are in the December 2013 issue of Country Living, UK. The craftsman and his son work in Wiltshire and use locally sourced materials. http://www.originalgame.co.uk
    Enjoy!

  3. Following a pledge to only buy British last year (which wasn’t easy) and as a Maker myself, I’ve teamed up with another Maker and launched Best Made Local http://www.bestmadelocal.co.uk which supports Selected Designer Makers & Foodie Artisans in Beds/Bucks/Herts/Northants region. We plan to roll this out further next year. We have just had our launch show (which was highly successful) and have another on 7th December in Stony Stratford, Milton Keynes. If you can get there you are all invited! Our visitors loved the fact they could talk to the creators, learn their individual creative stories and take part of it away with them through purchases. Our mission is to encourage people to re-engage with what is made on their doorstep or within easy reach. We had over 20 Makers exhibiting on Sunday but will have over 40 in December, there are links to all of them via our website, more being added daily. Like us on Facebook & follow us on Twitter – links through http://www.bestmadelocal.co.uk
    Happy British Shopping!

  10. How about one of our ever popular children’s crabbing kits in a recycled sailcloth carry bag?

A great present for children of all ages that can be personalised with the recipient’s name to avoid waterside sibling squabbles.

The gift has been so successful you may find an amusingly similar copy in a High Street shop that waves a Union Jack with enthusiasm but has a factory in China.

Ours were invented and are made in our sail loft here in Devon. As featured in the Saturday Telegraph and Make It British.

Our roll top recycled sailcloth wash bags are another popular choice, or maybe personalised luggage tags made from a genuine round-the-world sail.
